New YOrk City has been an inspiration of inspirations. It is hectic and crazy and fantasitc and opportunistic
and incredibly romantic. It is tiresome as well. So many energies, so many frequencies passing through such
s small, concentrated space that one can be completely uprooted if not centered within. There was high truth to Frank Sinatra's song lyrics, "If I can make it there, I'll make it anywhere"...
That is one of the reasons Dharma chose to stay in New York City after leaving the ashram of his Guru, Yogai Gupta.
With all of the distractions and temptations that arise here in this big city, one has to work especially hard to maintain balance and radiant health. One has to master the mind in order to ignore the rat race ansd stay focused on the goal of yoga, the
goal of life really.
There are days when I want out. Days when it's not so bad. Days when it's absolutely the best city in the world...of course
not having been to all if them : ) There are days when I fall in love all over again, seeing the magic i first saw several years ago. Within the flux, there is always one thing that remains the same, and that is the Dharma Yoga Center. It's more like home than anything else.
